The hours I've devoted to writing/coding on Episode since December 2015 are borderline obscene, so it makes sense my most popular stories are on this platform. Though this visually appealing app is far from perfect, it offers a unique, hands-on method of storytelling I always wanted to pursue, and improvements are slowly being made as the staff responds to community concerns.

MY MISSION
I grew up reading books that had nothing to do with me.
These books, mostly young adult novels set in middle class high schools with a bit of magic, weren't necessarily bad. They were entertaining. Charming. Turned me into a romantic and made me hope for love. But as a result I started writing stories that had nothing to do with me. And it took me several years to realize I'd sequestered myself, and everyone who looked like me, into the role of the helpful sidekick whose only purpose was to assist and defer. I didn't write black characters, I wrote black caricatures.
Fast forward to now and I've learned a bit more about myself and the world that shapes us. My protagonists are (hopefully) as real and colorful and flawed as the person penning them. They speak for themselves and breathe all on their own. Yes, I write for me, but I also write for the POC and members of the LGBT+ community who don't ask for much except a little consideration and representation.

I'm still learning. Still growing as a writer. There are some things I won't get right on the first try. But I hope when you read my work you can find a noble piece of yourself reflecting back with clarity, rather than the cartoonish fun house mirror so many are forced to peer through everyday.

WATTPAD
Traditional Writing = Faster Updates
After learning how to create stories on Episode's programming portal, suddenly "normal" writing became a helluva lot easier. Because of that, my Wattpad works tend to get a bit more love and attention at the cost of there being no visual/interactive component. Also, without the same guidelines Episode upholds, I can branch out into genres better suited for my older audiences.​
